En+ Group (LSE: ENPL; MOEX: ENPL), the world’s largest producer of low carbon aluminium, has been announced as the winner for ESG breakthrough at the Green Light awards organised by Schneider Electric. The award is given to the company operating in Russia with the strongest improvement in ESG performance over the last three years and reflects En+ Group’s dedication to delivering a low-carbon economy.
En+ was assessed on the development of its sustainable development agenda, consistent engagement in ESG disclosure, and continuous improvement in these areas. In the last year alone, the company has delivered a science-based roadmap to net zero emissions by 2050 and launched the world’s lowest carbon aluminium made using groundbreaking inert anode technology.
The Green Light Awards were launched earlier this year by Schneider Electric. They aim to spur new approaches for delivering on climate goals and sustainable development by uniting a community of businesses and experts.
The awards considered Russian and international companies and were coordinated in partnership with Skolkovo and the Central Dispatching Department of the Fuel Energy Complex.
Lord Barker of Battle, Executive Chairman of En+ Group, said:
“En+ Group is proud to be recognised by Schneider Electric. As businesses, we have a shared vision for a low-carbon economy and recognise the only way to get there is to bring the rest of the private sector along with us.
By uniting through the platform provided by the Green Light awards we hope to inspire other businesses to step up and make the 2020s a decade of action for the good of both people and planet.”
