Irkutsk, August 3, 2018 – Irkutskenergo (part of En+ Group) is accepting bids for the rental of land with 14.8 MW capacity available for power intensive businesses in a move to attract partners from high-tech industries, including data processing and cryptocurrency mining.

A prepared 21,000 sq.m plot of land, located within the city of Irkutsk, is being offered for a five year rental, with the option of an extension. Bids are being accepted until August 23, 2018; the results will be announced on August 27, 2018. Developing and supporting IT projects is one of the Company’s key priorities. In 2017, En+ Group became the first Siberian energy company to open a commercial modular data center “Clouds of Siberia”. In the future the Group is considering the creation of a chain of datacenters to meet high demand in the region.

The Company is in negotiations with potential partners regarding the establishment of power intensive businesses in Irkutsk, Angarsk and Ust-Ilimsk, where it has its power plants. The Group’s specialists estimate the aggregate additional electricity demand from the IT consumers at 100 MW in 2018.

Co-operation with Irkutskenergo will ensure high operational efficiency for potential partners – the Irkutsk region offers Russia’s lowest energy tariff to industrial consumers, 11 times lower than Singapore, which is the Asian leader of datacenter services. This factor and the cold Siberian climate will ensure low operating costs for computing companies.
