En+ Group Further Enhances its Sustainability Commitment with the Launch of an Environmental Advisory Board Chaired by Adnan Z. Amin

Mr Amin is a leading global figure in sustainable development who served as the first Director-General of the International Renewable Energy Agency

25 September 2019 — EN+ GROUP IPJSC (the “Company”, “the Group” or “En+ Group”) (LSE: ENPL; MOEX: ENPL), the world’s largest producer of low-carbon aluminium, announces the launch of its new Environmental Advisory Board (“EAB”) chaired by Adnan Z. Amin.

Mr Amin was the first Director-General of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), an intergovernmental organisation charged with driving the transition towards the use of renewable energy on a global scale.

The new EAB will advise the En+ Group Board of Directors (the “Board”) on how to deliver its extensive environmental agenda and identify emerging environmental issues. Its membership will include Joan MacNaughton, Chair of The Climate Group and member of the Advisory Board of the New Energy Coalition of Europe, plus external advisors with specific expertise in environmental and wider sustainability issues.

Before his tenure at IRENA, Mr Amin had a distinguished career at the United Nations and was a trustee and board member of the Cambridge, UK-based World Conservation Monitoring Centre, one of the world’s premier biodiversity information institutions,

His current roles include Senior Fellow at the Belfer Centre, Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, Member of the Stanford University Global Energy Council, Distinguished Fellow of the Atlantic Council and a Member of the OECD High Level Advisory Group on Aligning Development Cooperation with the Goals of the Paris Climate Agreement.
