En+ Director Appointed to IHA Board

16 July 2019 – Evgeniy Tikhonov, Business Development Director of En+ Group, has been appointed to the board of the International Hydropower Association ("IHA"). Mr Tikhonov was re-elected to a two-year term alongside representatives from other leading hydropower companies, such as EDF and Hydro-Québec.

He will be the sole representative for South and Central Asia, covering, among other nations, Russia, Kazakhstan and India. Mr Tikhonov will help guide the IHA’s work and advise on its priorities for the period.

The Board of the IHA governs the organization with a focus on the following aspects:

  • Sustainability of hydropower

  • Climate risks mitigation

  • Integration of renewables on a global scale

  • Providing guidance for the development of hydropower globally

  • Crafting international hydropower regulation policies

  • Promoting hydropower

The IHA is a non-profit membership organisation formed in 1995 under the auspices of UNESCO to advance good practice for sustainable hydropower. The organisation aims to create an open and trusted platform for knowledge exchange and seeks to engage stakeholders on policies and strategies that strengthen the sector’s performance.

Evgeniy Tikhonov, Strategy and Development Director at En+ Group, said:
