In 2021, UN Energy, the principal mechanism within the UN system for inter-UN collaboration on sustainable energy, recognized En+’s New Energy modernization program and En+’s International Renewable Energy Certificates (I-RECs) Project as UN Energy Compact to drive the progress on the achievement of SDG7 (Affordable and clean energy) . Energy Compacts established by UN Energy are voluntary commitments of action, with specific targets and timelines to accelerate action for clean, affordable energy for all and to contribute to successful SDG7 implementation. En+ became the first Russian company to be registered within UN Energy Compact system.
